Benzoyl Peroxide (Topical)
Benzoyl
peroxide is an antiseptic. It reduces the number of surface skin
bacteria, but does not cause bacterial resistance to antibiotics.
It also reduces the number of yeasts on the surface of the skin.
Benzoyl
peroxide is also an oxidizing agent and it drains comedones (mild acne)
on the skin surface and acts as an anti-inflammatory.
Calendula Extract
The flavonoids, found in high amounts in calendula, account for much of
its activity; triterpene saponins may also be important. Calendula also
contains carotenoids. The constituents responsible for these actions
are not entirely clear.
Goldenseal Extract (Hydrastis canadensis) Goldenseal helps promote health which can help fight acne.
Aloe Vera Extract
Aloe vera has a long history as a safe, effective skin care aid. For
over 6,000 years, people have benefited from the remarkable relief that
the plant can bring to a wide range of skin care.
Lemon Peal Extract
New studies on a monoterpene found in Lemon Peel called "limonene"
show that it very effectively prevents individuals from developing
abnormal growths on their skin. Limonene also has demonstrated
prevention efficacy in preclinical models of breast and colon abnormal
growths. But the most promising use of Lemon Peel is indicated in
recent research, which shows that this herb may help reduce the
occurrence of squamous cell skin cancers. Further study is still
required to support this research.
Chamomile Extract
Chamomile flower CO2-extract from German chamomile. This product is
best suitable for treating inflammation and irritation of skin and
mucous membranes. Clinical efficacy is comparable to hydrocortisone.
Lavender Extract
An antiseptic and anti-inflammatory that is effective in treating acne, dermatitis and oily skin.
Green Tea Extract
Green Tea extract works on the cellular level of the skin tosupport its
health. Both black and green tea extracts worked well, although green
tea proved more effective, at least in some patients.
Hyaluronic Acid
Hyaluronic acid has been nicknamed by the press as the "key to the
fountain of youth" because it has been noted that at least some people
who ingest a lot of it in their diets tend to live to ripe old ages.
ABC News had a show on a village in Japan and hyaluronic acid entitled,
"The Village of Long Life: Could Hyaluronic Acid Be an Anti-Aging
Remedy?".
Tocopheryl Acetate (Vitamin E)
Also know as Vitamin E. Vitamin E is a major antioxidant and the
primary defense against lipid peroxidation. Vitamin E is particularly
important in protecting the body's cells from free radical and
oxidative damage.
Panthenol (Vitamin B5)
More familiar as Vitamin B5. In a living cell, panthenol is converted
to pantothenic acid, which then becomes an important part of the
compound "Coenzyme A", which is important in cellular metabolism.
Carbomer
Classified as a synthetic polymer and used as an emulsion stabilizer as well as an aqueous viscosity-increasing agent.
Glycerin
Glycerin is a sweet tasting, colorless, liquid that attracts moisture to your skin.
Disodium Edta
Commonly referred to as EDTA is a stabilizer in cosmetic products that
is a chelating compound. The function of a chelating compound is to
prevent ingredients from binding to any trace elements that may be
present.
Cetyl Alcohol
Yellowish white flakes with no odor or toxicity, it is used as an emollient and emulsifier.
Tricaprylin
Occlusive skin-conditioning agent
Potassium sorbate
Potassium sorbate is a mild preservative. Its primary use is as a food preservative.
Germall II is a white, free-flowing hygroscopic powder.
Citric acid is a weak organic acid found in citrus fruits used as a natural preservative

Store this product in a cool dry place below 30C (86F). Keep out of reach of children.
Vitamin E:
Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin that exists in eight different
forms. Each form is active and useful in the body in its own way. Alpha
Tocopheryl is the most active form of Vitamin E in humans, and is a
powerful antioxidant. Antioxidants such as Vitamin E act to protect
your cells against the effects of free radicals damage at the cellular
level.Vitamin e helps support cellularinte grit and heart health.
Because skin is high in unsaturated fatty acids, which are especially
susceptible to free radical damage, it can benefit from vitamin E.
Vitamin E also can increase the effects of Vitamin C.
Vitamin C:
Potentially, vitamin C can benefit skin in two important ways.
Firstly, vitamin C is essential for the synthesis of collagen, a key
structural protein of the skin. Adding vitamin C to a culture of skin
cells (fibroblasts) dramatically increases the synthesis of collagen.
Secondly, vitamin C is an antioxidant and can help reduce free
radicals. So, when vitamin C is properly delivered into skin cells, it
may help reduce wrinkles and improve skin texture.
Collagen Hydrolyzed:
About 25% of all body proteins consist of collagen. Hydrolyzed
Collagen is simply collagen that has been broken down into smaller
pieces by enzymes, which may ease the digestion and absorption of the
amino acids in collagen by the intestine. Hydrolyzed Collagen is
thought to help nourish the body's collagen-containing tissues,
including cartilage, bones, tendons, ligaments and skin. Hydrolized
Collagen also prevents moisture loss, and binds and retains water.
Studies suggest that Hydrolyzed collagen may help support joint health.
Alpha Lipoic Acid (as Thioctic Acid):
Alpha Lipoic Acid (ALA), also known as Thioctic Acid, is a universal
antioxidant. In other words, it is both fat and water soluble. As a
result, ALA can travel more widely through the body than most
antioxidants. ALA stops the activation of NF kappa B, which may help
promote skin health. ALA may also reduce the appearance of scars. ALA
controls a transcription factor called AP-1. AP-1 activates genes in
the cell nucleus that produce collagen-digesting enzymes. The digestion
of collagen promotes wrinkles, but ALA can work to inhibit this
process. ALA helps recycle other antioxidants, such as Vitamin E and
Vitamin C, making them more effective. ALA also helps the body produce
energy and has been studied for its effects on liver health. ALA is
found in only small amounts in foods meaning that you can't get very
much of it through diet alone.
Hyaluronic Acid:
Hyaluronic acid (also called Hyaluronan) is a component of
connective tissue whose function is to cushion and lubricate.
Hyaluronan occurs throughout the body in abundant amounts in many of
the places people such as joints, heart valves and eyes. Hyaluronic
acid is important to connective tissue health as well as joint health.
Ubidecarenone Co-Enzyme Q10:
Coenzyme Q10 is also known as ubidecarenone. It is made naturally in
the body. A coenzyme is a substance needed for the proper functioning
of an enzyme, a protein that speeds up the rate at which chemical
reactions take place. Q10 refers to parts of the compound's chemical
structure. Coenzyme Q10 is an antioxidant found in most body tissues.
Like other antioxidants, it has been studied in relation tohelp reduce
the signs of aging. Tissue levels of coenzyme Q10 decrease as people
get older. Coenzyme Q10 is used to produce the energy needed for cell
growth and maintenance and has been studied in the support of heart
health.
Aloe Vera (Aloe vera) (leaf):
Aloe Vera leaf contains enormous numbers of nutrients and beneficial
compounds, including minerals, amino acids and vitamins. Aloe Vera is
widely usedto support skin health because it contains gibberlin and
polysaccharides. The lignins in Aloe Vera penetrate the skin and carry
the healing effect into the tissues. Aloe Vera also helps to reduce
scar tissue. It has been claimed that Aloe Vera leaf boosts the immune
system.
Bioperine (Piper nigrum):
Bioperine is a patented extract of black pepper and long pepper
berries harvested in India. Black pepper is used in Ayurvedic medicine
to promote overall health. Bioperine contains far more of the active
content of black pepper than raw pepper does. The important point for
Acnezine is that Bioperine increases the absorption of many
supplements, including vitamins, minerals, amino acids and
antioxidants, making the other active ingredients more active.
